Name of the Technology
Robotic Male Vas Deferens Intraluminal Injection System
The Technology
The technology on offer is an electro-mechanical device which assists the medical personnel's hand holding the injection syringe to approach the biological structure accurately. Special force sensors positioned at the base of the injection needle overcome the problem of excess penetration. These sensors are coupled to signal conditioning systems and piezoelectric tactile vibrators. It uses four modes of nonradiological imaging (scanning electrical impedance plethysmography, ultrasound, transillumination, and Moire topography) and combines them to get the final result. Image data is converted to a signal which controls an electromechanical device which assists the medical personnel\'s hand holding the syringe to approach the biological structure accurately.
USP
No alternatives existing for male vas deferens Intraluminal injection.
Advantages
- Provides 9 degrees of freedom.
- Differentiates tremor of the had from voluntary movement and suppresses the tremor.
- Simpler and less expensive than MRI.
- Can be used for injections in other similar biological structures.
- Coordinates the decision based on the image and force data with the needle velocity and position
