Name of the Technology
Heart Sound Analyzer
The Technology
Heart Sound Analyzer is an integrated system to acquire and process digitized heart sound signal for identification of valvular heart diseases in both auto and manual mode. It also has built-in self test module, patient database management system and report generation facilities. Additionally, it can be used to train physicians on analysis of phonocardiogram signal, normal as well as pathological. The sound from the heart is acquired by an electronic stethoscope, passed through a transducer and amplifier and the data recorded in a computer. The software then provides a visual display of the heart sound and also processes the signal thereby providing a possible diagnosis along with its probability.
USP
- Generates a confident score of the decision ( tells how much possibility is that the patient has the indicated disease)
- An Additional tool in the form of a drop-down menu of suspected disease(s) that gives time domain, frequency domain, time-frequency domain information and audio clues to compare against and arrive at a decision
Advantages
- Zooming and playback of heart sound possible
- Extremely cost effective
- Handy to use
- Can be used by the patient himself
- Doesn't require auxiliary input like ECG
